Bjørn Simonsen strengthens the Greenstat Team

We are happy to announce that Bjørn Simonsen has recently been brought in as a Senior Advisor for Greenstat in the upcoming period toward an IPO. Simonsen will also join the board of Greenstat Asia and Greenstat Hydrogen, and will, therefore, become well acquainted with the organization, the market, and Greenstat’s growth strategy.

With a passion for climate and nature, Simonsen joins the company with a solid background in hydrogen and cleantech. He was central in the listing process of Nel Hydrogen in 2014, and the company’s further development up until 2020, when he was a part of building and leading the listed investment company Saga Pure. We asked him a few questions in order to get to know him better.

Why did you choose to accept the position of Senior Advisor at Greenstat?

Greenstat has achieved a lot since they started in 2015, and it has been a pleasure to follow the development from the sidelines. They have always remained true to their all-green strategy and values, and have managed to attract a bunch of competent and nice people. Now that they are about to enter an exciting new phase, in which I can hopefully be a contributor, there was not that much to wonder about.

What will your work tasks be, and what are you looking forward to the most in your new role?

Having spent the last 8 years in listed, green companies, I have both produced and seen a whole lot of investor presentations from all kinds of green companies. My tasks will primarily be connected to the process towards the Euronext listing in the fall, and I will apply my experience to contribute to the process running as smoothly as possible. There is a lot to look forward to, but I am primarily looking forward to working with the inspiring, competent people in Greenstat, and being a part of taking the company to the next level.

What will be most important for Greenstat in the upcoming period of preparation for IPO in the fall?

To keep up the good work, and to tell the world in simple terms what Greenstat is and what Greenstat will become in the future.

Why are companies like Greenstat important for the energy transformation that Norway is going through?

In the energy transformation that we are currently in, it is important to step away from thinking in silos. There is an entire ecosystem that needs to be put in place, and a great many considerations that must be taken on the way to finding optimal solutions. Greenstat has broad energy expertise and a holistic understanding that is not only useful but also absolutely necessary in this transformation.

What does a perfect day look like to you?

A perfect work day is a day where I am challenged, can challenge others, where everyone becomes a little wiser, and where we find out how to take, not just one, but ten steps in the direction of a greener world - and where we are having fun in the process. A perfect day off can consist of many things, but if I had to choose it would be spent in the mountains, regardless of the season, together with my wonderful partner - and maybe also a couple of good friends.
